Air Conditioning

The air conditioning refrigerant handling qualification has been in place since 4th July 2010. In order to ensure our technicians are covered, we have a two day air conditioning course which includes the assessment. The qualification is awarded to the technician and not the dealer.

Therefore, for compliance of the law, any person undertaking the service or repair of Air conditioning of a motor vehicle must hold a VRQ or ATA award issued by the IMI or a similar qualification issued by the City and Guilds.

eLearning

eLearning is now available for your technicians. For ‘New to Mazda’ technicians we have an introductory eLearning module called ‘MTC 102 Mazda History, Present and Future’.

For those technicians working on achieving a senior level degree, we have ‘MTC 207 Sensors, Actuators and Data Bus Systems e-learning’ ‘MTC 208 Electrics System 1 and MTC 209 Electrics System 2’ available to support their knowledge when they attend these courses.

We have model training eLearning for CX7, Mazda 3 and Mazda 6. There is also eLearning available on Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, i-Stop and Manual Transaxle + 4 W.

Portal Maintenance

Please be sure that your portal is kept up to date. It is vitally important that your technicians and apprentices have their own portal user account, in order to allow access to e-learning modules and for us to update their training records when they are attending our courses.

Please ensure that the Technician’s profile has:

  • Their full name – no generic names allow i.e tech 1 (the name field will be what is printed on certification)
  • ONE profile ONLY, no duplications. (if someone works between multiple dealers they can only have ONE profile and must use a colleagues’ to view the other dealerships)
  • Its portal up-to-date at all times

If you have any question with regards to the above, please do not hesitate to contact the Mazda Technical Academy, Toni Horner, on 08450 77 55 35 (Option 2).
